Romelu Lukaku Hits Back After Critics Challenge His Record vs. Top Teams

Romelu Lukaku will escape any action for his alleged stamp on Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren during Manchester United’s goalless draw at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool versus Manchester United was such a let down, despite hopes of a great match being few and far between.

The Croatia worldwide made the accusation in Slovenia, where Liverpool are preparing for Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Maribor, after it was confirmed Lukaku will face no action over a seemingly accidental collision between the pair on Saturday. It is what it is now, we need to move on. “We have important games now in front of us [and] we need to learn about today [so] that we can play against the really deep-defending teams”.

On the positive side a clean sheet, albeit against an unadventurous United side who had previously scored 33 goals in 11 matches this season, was their first since the 4-0 demolition of Arsenal on August 27.

“It’s not my decision, of course, I can not say I’m disappointed, it is what it is, we need to move on, that’s football”. “This (Maribor) is the place they should rotate”, he said.

“I know what people are thinking. Now I am in a team where we want to win against the big teams and we want to win every game, so I think the situation will change”.

“I am confident. I don’t know how we will play but we need to get three points this way or that way”.

However, they were slightly fortunate that the one chance in-form Romelu Lukaku got late in the first half he fired too close to Simon Mignolet.

Lukaku has a chance to shake off his reputation, when United’s take on another of the Premier League’s big six in Tottenham Hotspur later this month. We have already wasted points even though the performances were good.
