California is supposedly suffering under high taxes and high costs, but a new study finds residents of the Golden State are the fourth happiest in America.
To determine where Americans have the highest satisfaction with life, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states across 28 key indicators of happiness. It ranked last on the list of happiest states.
The five least happy states in the USA are Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma and West Virginia, citing low emotional and physical well-being and poor work environments as primary indicators.
Among the reasons for Kentucky’s low ranking are a lack of adequate sleep and low sports participation.
Utah was second on the happiest state list, while Oklahoma and West Virginia were at the bottom.
On the other end of the stick lie Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, not-so-OK Oklahoma and, lastly, nearly heaven West Virginia.
