Android 8.0 Oreo Comes to Oneplus 3 Smartphone

Select Samsung Xiaomi One Plus phones get Android 8.0 Oreo custom ROM

However, several reports mention that it is a bit surprising that OnePlus 3 has received Android 8.0 Oreo closed beta before OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 that are newer flagship from the Chinese company.

The Asus ZenFone 5, Motorola Nexus 6, LG Nexus 5, OnePlus One, Sony Xperia SP, Xperia TX, Xperia T and Xperia V, Xiaomi Red mi Note 3 (Snapdragon variant), Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 5, Mi Max, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 are some of the devices that are ready to get the AOSP Oreo, Even the OnePlus 5 will get the same on an experimental basis. There are no Android 8.0 Oreo images with September patches for Pixel or Nexus devices live yet, but it shouldn't be too long before they are added.

Previously, OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau has Tweeted informing users that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update within this year. It is believed that these models will get the final Oreo version soon. We'll update this post to let you know, of course.

According to Oliver Z, OnePlus' head of product, Android Oreo is the last Android update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. "OP3/3T will receive Android O within this year", OnePlus confirmed during a Reddit AMA.

"Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P devices will be receiving the September security patches as part of the upgrade to Android Oreo."
The A/B systems means that when the device gets an update it will be downloaded and installed on the second system partition and when you restart that second partition will swap to become System A instead of B to make the updating process seamless.

The latest Android 8.0 Oreo update, unsurprisingly, isn't stable - NFC isn't functional yet, WiFi is buggy, hotspot and Bluetooth are unstable, and so on. Oreo brings the picture-in-picture option, better battery life and enhanced notifications channel.
