Okami HD has been rated by the Korean Game Ratings Board for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC suggesting upcoming releases on those platforms. The Korean GRB may have leaked a re-released of Okami HD. And though they still went by Clover Studio at the time, Okami was developed by key staff members of Platinum Games, whose games have enjoyed a second round of success on PC. was (and still is) a bit dodgy, but Platinum’s ports of and are both exceptional, and Capcom did well by its port of Dragon’s Dogma a year ago.
Okami is an action-adventure video game developed by Clover Studio that was originally released in 2006 for PS2. With a very distinctive cel-shaded visual style inspired by “sumi-e” and the use of a gesture system known as the Celestial Brush, Okami received widespread critical acclaim.
There is no official word from Capcom at the time of writing but this rating adds to a growing pile of evidence. According to Kotaku, two different European Union retail chains listed the game’s physical release in internal schedules, and both chains had December 12 slated as the game’s release date. Like the PS3 version before it, Okami HD has been listed as an HD version, but it’d be nice to see it running in native 4K with HDR, if at all possible.
I for one would love an excuse to replay Okami, though – as with everything these days – I’m a bit bummed that it’s apparently not getting a Switch port. It plays like Nintendo’s 3D Zelda adventure games of the early 2000s, but with a twist.
